Scouts update
In my previous post I said that I would be following the GW how to paint Imperial Guard video for the fatigues on my scouts.
Apologies for the darkness of the photo, my phone doesn't like taking photos at night.
Fatigues as follows: Zandri Dust/Agrax Earth Shade/Zandri Dust except in recesses/Ushabti Bone on folds.
I have all ten scouts at this stage, now onto the faces!
What's everyone else working on?

New brushes = mini review
I decided to treat myself to most of the new brush range from Games Workshop.
Namely these two, M and L base brushes.
And this morning I set about my scouts in a batch painting style. I'd decided to paint the fatigues like the Cadians in the how to paint Astra Militarum video.
Not a very exciting picture...
Here you can see my mornings work. I used only two of the brushes for this.
The L at the top is fantastic, it holds water and paint really well and the shape is great for getting in smaller spaces. It was lost on my scouts to be honest, I really need to give it a go on a better subject but still was great none the less.
The M is the real deal. The amount of paint and moisture it retains is incredible. It took a bit of getting used to at first because I wasn't aware just how much water it would hold, thus making my paint too thin. Once I had sorted that out though I was flying! I would guess that this brush holds three times the amount of the previous version on GW's base brush. It meant I could get a lot more painting done before getting more which in turn sped everything up.
And finally, I had something happen today while painting that hasn't happened to me before... I dropped a model, and it bounced and landed in my water jar!
By now I should have come up with a better way of holding minis rather than by the base... Any tips? How do you hold your minis?
