Frostgrave wizard

I love these miniatures! This guy came from the Frostgrave soldiers box and I added a couple of bits from the Cultists to make my own wizard.

Anyone else play Frostgrave?

Frostgrave news!

A new suppliminet coming in July...

Where you can use these...

It hasn't been announced yet if the gnolls will be like the cultists in Thaw of the Lich Lord of if they're a separate faction.

I can't wait for these!

Frostgrave Warband

Here is my Frostgrave miniatures that I've made so far. Those of you that play the game will know that this isn't a correct starting warband.

Look at this old beauty I found! He's going to be a ranger.

Anyone else play Frostgrave?

Scouts update

In my previous post I said that I would be following the GW how to paint Imperial Guard video for the fatigues on my scouts.

Apologies for the darkness of the photo, my phone doesn't like taking photos at night.

Fatigues as follows: Zandri Dust/Agrax Earth Shade/Zandri Dust except in recesses/Ushabti Bone on folds.

I have all ten scouts at this stage, now onto the faces!

What's everyone else working on?

New brushes = mini review

I decided to treat myself to most of the new brush range from Games Workshop.

And this morning I set about my scouts in a batch painting style. I'd decided to paint the fatigues like the Cadians in the how to paint Astra Militarum video.

Not a very exciting picture...

Here you can see my mornings work. I used only two of the brushes for this.

Namely these two, M and L base brushes.

The L at the top is fantastic, it holds water and paint really well and the shape is great for getting in smaller spaces. It was lost on my scouts to be honest, I really need to give it a go on a better subject but still was great none the less.

The M is the real deal. The amount of paint and moisture it retains is incredible. It took a bit of getting used to at first because I wasn't aware just how much water it would hold, thus making my paint too thin. Once I had sorted that out though I was flying! I would guess that this brush holds three times the amount of the previous version on GW's base brush. It meant I could get a lot more painting done before getting more which in turn sped everything up.

And finally, I had something happen today while painting that hasn't happened to me before... I dropped a model, and it bounced and landed in my water jar!

By now I should have come up with a better way of holding minis rather than by the base... Any tips? How do you hold your minis?

Army build progress

Over the last couple of days I've built and undercoated 500 points of Space Marines.

I've used the dreadnought and some marines from the Calth set, a slightly converted Blood Angel librarian and some Scouts!

Just need to decide on a scheme...

Which leads me nicely into two of my Malifaux crews!

I'm hoping to take some better shots of these soon, anyone else play Malifaux?
